Data & Privacy
Last updated July 18, 2026
A plain-language overview of the data behind Simplified My Wealth — what we collect, why, where it lives, and the controls you have. For the formal policy, see the Privacy Policy.
Legal review required before public launch
The data-handling practices below are described accurately for the current beta. Retention periods and any compliance-related statements still require attorney review before public launch.
What we collect and why
Account & identity. Your email and authentication details, used to create and secure your account.
Connected financial data. When you link an institution through Plaid, we receive read-only account balances, holdings, investment transactions, and — only if you choose the mortgage flow — liability details. This powers your net worth, portfolio, dividends, and home-equity views.
Data you enter. Values you add yourself, such as property valuations, retirement goals, and preferences.
Product analytics. Limited, aggregated usage signals to keep the product reliable. We do not sell your personal financial data.
Where your data lives
Authentication and your records are hosted on Supabase. Connections to your financial institutions are made through Plaid. Both providers process data on our behalf so the product can function. Your records are scoped to your account and isolated at the database level, so one user cannot read or modify another user's data.
How connected data flows
You authenticate with your bank through Plaid — your bank login is entered with Plaid and is never seen or stored by Simplified My Wealth. Plaid issues a read-only access token for each connection, which we store server-side to refresh your data. Tokens are never exposed to your browser and are never included in data exports.
Retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Disconnecting an institution removes its synced data and revokes its access token immediately. Manually entered values, goals, and Demo Mode data are kept separate and are unaffected by disconnecting a bank.
Self-service account deletion is not yet available in the beta. Some limited records may be retained where required for legal, security, or financial-compliance reasons even after a deletion request. To request deletion, email support@simplifiedmywealth.com.
The controls you have
You can export your own data anytime from Settings (accounts, holdings, and dividend history — never tokens or other users' data), disconnect any institution from Accounts or Settings, manage notification preferences, and request account deletion by email during the beta.
